The staff of the Ste. Anne - Adult Learning
Centre were proud to celebrate the accomplishments of twelve of our
graduates at a ceremony and dinner on June 22nd, 2006. Approximately
80 people attended the ceremony that was held at the Village Green
Restaurant in Steinbach, Manitoba. Among those
attending were Mr. Roy Seidler, Superintendent of Seine River School
Division, Ms. Debra Radi, Assistant Superintendent, Ms. Theresa
Bergson, School Trustee, and Mr. Jonathan Elcomb, Director of the
Ste. Anne-Adult Learning Centre. Ms. Radi said a few words of
admiration to the graduates and congratulated them on their
commitment to education. Trustee Bergson recognized the success and
hard work of each and every graduate. Ms. Lowery, the English
teacher at the centre, lightened it up a little with a humorous but
philosophical story of ones journey toward education and lifelong
goals.
Each graduate was presented with their High School Diploma and
congratulated by the staff of the centre and invited guests, amid
much applause from those attending. The microphone was then offered
to the graduates and guests who wanted to say a few words. Lots of
laughs, words of appreciation and a few tears were shared which
ended a truly memorable evening. The staff of the ALC would like to extend a special
thank you to the Village Green
Restaurant for an evening of delicious food and excellent service.
