Mature Student Diploma Program

If you are interested in attaining your high school diploma, Ste. Anne - ALC offers a Mature Student Diploma Program. To qualify for the program you must meet all of the following criteria:

bullet

A mature student must be 19 years of age or over at the time of enrolment in school division/district or ALC programming directed at completing the Mature Student Graduation Requirements, or one who will reach the age of 19 before completion of the course(s) in which one is enrolled.

bullet

A mature student must have been out of school for six (6) months or more, AND must have been out of school long enough for his/her class to graduate from high school.

bullet

A mature student has not obtained a high school diploma.

bullet

A mature student must complete a minimum of eight credits to be eligible for high school standing. Four of these credits must be at the Senior 4 (Grade 12) level. Two of the Senior 4 level courses must include SENIOR 4 ENGLISH LANGUAGE ARTS and SENIOR 4 MATHEMATICS or ACCOUNTING 40S.

bulletNo person shall retroactively obtain mature high school standing. That is, no person can claim automatic rights to a mature student graduation diploma solely on the basis of courses previously credited in high school.

 

 

Skill Upgrading Program

If you have already completed your high school education and require courses for upgrading or to enhance employment opportunities, you may still be eligible for 4 courses funded by the provincial government. This means there will be no charge for taking courses up to a total of four. The only requirement is that you finish the course.
